A number of the volunteers in the group are enthusiastic amateur gardeners, with a wealth of knowledge between them, whose aims are to see that the station  platform and adjacent areas are attractive for anyone using the station and especially for those travellers visiting the Heatons for the first time.The Friends Group are always looking for volunteers with new ideas and who are able to assist in implementing those ideas.The gardening group tend to meet on the second Saturday of each month between 10 and 2 excluding January and February to undertake routine tasks as required.There maybe some among you who may not be physically able to assist, but may wish to help in other ways, for example by providing bulbs, plants, compost or you may have contacts in the horticultural industry who would be willing to supply goods at cost price.If you think that you would like to get involved the please do not hesitate in contacting me on tony.ashurst@sky.comThanks
